They were not usually the best looking Shirts. A Retro Football Shirt can be nice or ugly looking. The South American Football Shirts is one that the gifted loves! Retro Football Shirts are always special. Some are weird looking – One had salmon pink and yellow stripes. Another looked like a red and brown barcode. There was also a rather-too-Watford yellow one. It doesnt bother me though, or my brother for that fact. So each and every season our poor old Mum would take us up to White Hart Lane so we could get the latest Tottenham Hotspur kit. And not just the kit either. Scarves, tracksuits, beanies, car stickers, books – pretty much all football item you can think of. And it didn’t stop there – every birthday and Xmas, Tottenham Hotspur football gifts made up a large piece of any list handed over.
Fast-forward 10 years and there is not been a huge change. We don’t go as mad in buying up the contents of the team shop, but a top for matchdays is not out of the question. And I did stumble over a brilliant idea that took care of both my brother’s and my fiancée’s father’s Xmas presents last season. We bought them a Tottenham Hotspur and a West Ham personalised football book that I got on a the Football Stop website. With close to 60 teams available, these books consist of tabloid-sized reprints of original tabloid coverage, often beginning in the early part of the 20th century and running right through to the end of last year.
